Stocks were little changed on Thursday as Wall Street grappled with disappointing jobs data and more central bank stimulus after a blistering rally to start off the month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average hovered around the flatline while the S&P 500 dipped 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%.
Earlier in the session, the Nasdaq-100 index, which is made up of the 100-largest nonfinancial stocks in the Nasdaq Composite, hit an intraday record.
