U.S. stocks closed mostly lower on Wednesday, as fears about the spread of the coronavirus epidemic weighed on investor sentiment.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 121 points, or 0.4%, closing near 26,960, while the S&P 500 fell about 12 points or 0.4% to finish trading near 3,117. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed near 8,981, up 15 points or 0.2%. Shares of Wendy's Company slid nearly 5% after the fast-food chain provided downbeat guidance to analysts.
