Stocks ended off session highs but solidly in positive territory Thursday as investors kept an eye on U.S.-China trade talks. Equities added to gains in early action after President Donald Trump tweeted that he would meet with China's vice premier, Liu He, on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose around 151 points, or 0.6%, to end near 26,497, according to preliminary figures, after gaining 257 points at its high. The S&P 500 ended around 19 points higher, up 0.6%, near 2,938, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced around 47 points, or 0.6%, to finish near 7,951.
