Tokyo stocks closed lower Friday on profit-taking ahead of key US-China trade talks at the Group of 20 summit.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.29 percent or 62.25 points to end at 21,275.92, while the Topix index fell 0.14 percent or 2.13 points at 1,551.14.
