U.S. stocks drifted lower at the opening bell on Friday, a day after the S&P 500 closed at an all-time high.
The S&P 500 was down less than 0.1% to 2,951. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 20 points , or less than 0.1%, to 26,733. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.3% to 8,024.
Investors saw some geopolitical uncertainty from the Middle East ease following President Donald Trump's decision to call off military strikes against Iran in retaliation for downing a U.S. drone. The Federal Reserve remained in focus as several senior central bank officials are set to speak throughout the session.
