Tokyo Stocks Jump on Speculation Over US Rate Cut

Tokyo stocks jumped on Monday, tracking rallies on Wall Street after a weak US jobs report bolstered expectations that the Federal Reserve would soon cut interest rates.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.20 percent, or 249.71 points, to close at 21,134.42, while the broader Topix index was up 1.34 percent, or 20.55 points, at 1,552.94.
