Hong Kong shares closed higher on Wednesday after the US Federal Reserve chief indicated a greater openness to lowering interest rates, bringing cheer to investors.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.50 percent, or 133.92 points, to 26,895.44.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.03 percent, or 0.86 points, to 2,861.42, but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.04 percent, or 0.62 points, to close at 1,494.77.
