U.S.stocks on Monday morning climbed tentatively higher but sufficiently so to score the first intraday high for the broad-market S&P 500 since late September.
The S&P 500 index rose 0.1% at 2,942, and hit an all-time intraday peak at 2,943.59 at the start of trade. The last time it touched an intraday high was Sept. 21, according to FactSet data.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index advanced to a fresh all-time intraday record, rising 0.1% at 8,155, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was under pressure, off 20 points, or 0.1%, at 26,524, weighed by declines in shares of Boeing Co. off 0.8% and UnitedHealth Group Inc. which was off 0.6%.
