China equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Gas, Water & Multiutilities, Travel & Leisure and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 2.94% to hit a new 3-year low, while the SZSE Component index declined 2.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Wuxi New Hongtai Electrical Technology Co Ltd, which rose 10.02% or 1.400 points to trade at 15.370 at the close. Hangzhou XZB Tech Co Ltd added 10.00% or 2.16 points to end at 23.76 and Guizhou Changzheng Tiancheng Holding Co Ltd was up 9.90% or 0.300 points to 3.330 in late trade.
