President Donald Trump's government transferred US $ 3.8 billion in military funds that were recently approved to finance the construction of the American-Mexican wall that he had been trying for a long time.
The transfer of funds not only angered Democrats, but also Republicans.
The Pentagon, Thursday (02/13/2020), will transfer the money from the National Guard unit, procuring aircraft and shipbuilding to anti-drug accounts to finance the construction of a new wall.
The move, which was published in a "reprogramming" document submitted to members of Congress, drew severe criticism of Mack Thornberry, chairman of the Republican faction's Commission of the Armed Forces Commission. Transferring Democrats also condemned it, but Trump did not ask for a compilation of possible transfers last year.
Trump's action was carried out less than two months after he moved a large allocation package into law. He paid no attention to members of Congress from the faction last year compiling funds from projects that were popular on military bases.
Trump's 2021 fiscal budget, which was just released on Monday (2/10/2020) yesterday, contains a request of US $ 2 billion for the border wall, less than the amount that bound Trump last year.
