Gold headed for a third weekly gain in four as mounting concerns over the impact of the coronavirus boosted demand for haven assets.
Hubei, the Chinese province at the center of the outbreak, reported almost 5,000 new cases, a day after confirming nearly 15,000 following a revision to its methodology. The death toll in China was at 1,380.
Spot gold little changed at $1,575.06/oz at 7:04am in London. Price +0.3% this week, +3.8% YTD.
Other precious metals : Silver +0.2% at $17.6850/oz. Platinum +0.1% to $971.59/oz, set for a second weekly rise. Palladium +0.2% to $2,438.49/oz, +5.1% this week.
