Europe stocks on Monday closed higher, with traders pouring into British equities as the pound collapsed, and merger news also providing a lift.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.14% to 391.28.
The U.K. FTSE 100 gained 1.81% to 7,686.61, its best one-day performance since Feb. 5. Gains accelerated as the pound weakened on concerns the U.K. could leave the European Union without an agreement.
The German DAX increased 0.08% to 12,430.32 and the French CAC 40 inched up 0.01% to 5,610.73.
