U.S. stock futures fell early Friday after a decline in some major tech stocks, along with dismal employment data and rising tensions with China, pushed the market lower a day earlier.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures implied a drop of about 170 points at the open. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also pointed to a negative open.

Weekly jobless claims rose by another 2.4 million last week, according to data released by the U.S. Labor Department. That brings the total number of filings during the pandemic to more than 38 million. Continuing claims are also at a record.
