The Hang Seng Index is rising 0.7 percent at 25,213.72 in Hong Kong in early trading.
Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 2.3 percent. Want Want China Holdings Ltd. had the largest increase, rising 3.0 percent.
In early trading, 43 of 50 shares rose, while 7 fell; all sectors were higher, led by finance stocks.
The Shanghai Composite Index is declining slightly to 2,942.38 in Shanghai in early trading.
The MSCI AC Asia Pacific Index declined 0.2 percent.
