U.S. stock opened lower Friday as a short session got underway, weighed down by questions about the future of U.S.-China trade talks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked down 56 points, 0.3%, at the open, to about 28,107. The S&P 500 opened 5 points, 0.2%, lower, at about 3,148. The Nasdaq lost 23 points, 0.3%, at the open, at 8,682. Shares of retailers like Amazon.com Inc. were in focus on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
