U.S. stock futures surged Monday after President Donald Trump said China is ready to come back to the negotiating table following a phone call Sunday and the two countries will start talking very seriously.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures traded 174 points higher, indicating a rise of 222.10 points at Monday’s open, as of 6:49 a.m. ET. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also pointed to opening gains for both indexes.
Speaking to reporters at the Group of Seven (G-7) meeting in Biarritz in France Monday, Trump said the two countries would start talking very seriously.
