U.S. stock-index futures pointed to modest opening gains on Wednesday as investors braced for a trio of developments, including an important reading of inflation, and updates from European and U.S. central banks.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 43 points, or 0.2%, at 26,201, those for the S&P 500 index gained 5.40 points to 2,888, a gain of about 0.2%, Nasdaq-100 futures, meanwhile, climbed 12.25 points, or 0.2%, at 7,605.50.
On Tuesday, the Dow dropped 190.44 points, or 0.7%, to close at 26,150.58, while the S&P 500 index fell 17.57 points. or 0.6%, to 2,878.20. The Nasdaq Composite Index declined 44.61 points, or 0.6%, to 7,909.28.
