The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.7 percent at 2,941.52 in Shanghai. The move was the biggest since falling 1.4 percent on Feb. 15 and follows the previous session's increase of 5.6 percent.
Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 2.2 percent. Anhui Quanchai Engine Co. had the largest drop, falling 10.0 percent.
Today, 806 of 1,501 shares fell, while 645 rose; 3 of 5 sectors were lower, led by conglomerate stocks.
