Stocks are mostly higher in morning trading on Wall Street Friday after a surge in hiring in January was tempered by a weak revenue forecast by Amazon.

The solid jobs report came a day after investors got encouraging news from the Federal Reserve, which confirmed that it will be "patient" in deciding when to raise interest rates.

The S&P 500 index rose 5 points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,709 as of 11:11 a.m. Eastern time. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 128 points, or 0.5 percent, to 25,127. The Nasdaq composite was flat at 7,281 points.
