China's benchmark index closed in the black on Friday with SAIC Motor Corp. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 6.3 percent. Shanghai Hongda Mining Co. had the largest increase, rising 10.1 percent.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed higher 1.1 percent at 2,821.35 in Shanghai. The index advanced to the highest closing level since Aug. 1 after the previous session's decrease of 0.5 percent.
Today, 1212 of 1483 shares rose, while 199 fell; all sectors were higher, led by industrial stocks.
CSI 300 rose 1 percent to 3,438.87 at close.
The Chinese yuan strengthened against the U.S. dollar to 6.8847 from 6.8903.
The MSCI AC Asia Pacific Index advanced 0.3 percent.
