Chinese equities extended their declines Thursday, as concern over a trade dispute with the U.S. continued to weigh on some of the worst-performing stock indexes in the world this year.
The CSI 300 Index fell 2.2 percent at the close, extending Wednesday’s 2 percent decline. The Shenzhen Composite Index slid 2.4 percent to its lowest close since February 2015. Tencent Holdings Ltd. tumbled 3 percent as of 3:01 p.m. in Hong Kong, for a six-day loss of 9.3 percent. That weighed on the Hang Seng Index, which was set for a fourth day of losses.
