U.S. stocks edged higher and the 10-year Treasury yield pushed toward 3 percent as trade tensions between the world’s two biggest economies showed signs of abating.
The S&P 500 rose 0.3 percent at 11:49 a.m. in New York.Technology shares paced gains in the S&P 500 Index after President Donald Trump reversed a move to block ZTE Corp. from its U.S. suppliers and energy shares advanced as American oil topped $71 a barrel. Stocks came off session highs as rate-sensitive shares slumped with Treasury yields edging back toward 3 percent. German 10-year yields touched the highest this month after a senior European Central Bank official said the first rate hike could come quarters, not years after the end of asset purchases.
