Facebook shares after a forecast-beating earnings report, though the cheer wasn't enough to lift equity markets overall.
Futures for the Nasdaq-100 index rose 19.25 points, or 0.3%, to 6,575, lifted by a solid premarket gain for Facebook Inc. and other tech giants that reported Wednesday after the close.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 19 points, or 0.1%, to 24,059, while those for the S&P 500 index lost 0.50 points, or less than 0.1%, to 2,644.25.
The moves come after a volatile session on Wednesday, when the Dow industrials and S&P 500 managed to shake off heavy losses and end the day slightly higher. For the Dow, that meant breaking a five-day losing run, which had been its longest string of losses since March 2017.
The Nasdaq Composite Index fell slightly on Wednesday.
