US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he hoped that negotiations with North Korea could support in the near future, while North Korea had conducted a long arms test.

Pompeo told reporters accompanying his visit to attend the Asian defense forum in Thailand which had held preliminary talks for new negotiations, but the date of the talks had not yet been determined.

Pompeo said he wanted to see if the North Korean Foreign Minister would come to Bangkok, and he was sure they would meet. The main American negotiator will also attend the security forum meeting in Bangkok.

The US-North Korea talks have since President Trump's meeting with North Korean leaders Kim Jong-un in Hanoi last February. But they met again in a military-free area in North and South Korea in June.
