Oil prices were down on Wednesday in Asia amid fears that the ongoing trade war between the U.S. and China would affect demand for oil.

U.S. Crude Oil WTI Futures were down 1.1% to $58.52 by 12:30 AM ET (04:30 GMT). International Brent Oil Futures declined 0.8% to $68.14.

Amid the lack of other directional drivers, traders today are focusing on the trade tension between the U.S. and China, the world’s biggest oil importers.

Weekly data on U.S. crude inventories are delayed this week due to Monday's holiday. The American Petroleum Institute will release its figures late Wednesday, while the Energy Information Administration's report is due Thursday morning.
