Gold Gains 3rd Day as Trade Tensions Damp Growth View

Gold rose for a third day as concerns that the U.S.-China trade war is hurting global growth damps risk appetite.

Spot gold +0.1% to $1,285.90/oz at 7:53am in London; +0.6% last week. Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index +0.1%

The U.S. isn’t ready to make a trade deal with China, President Donald Trumpsaid while on a state visit to Japan. “I think they probably wish they made the deal that they had on the table before they tried to renegotiate it,” Trump said at a press conference in Tokyo. “They would like to make a deal. We’re not ready to make a deal.”
